Seven young women have been working hard for months preparing for the Miss Yucca Valley scholarship pageant. The Rotary Club-sponsored event will be held on Saturday, February 3, at 6:00 p.m. at the Joshua Springs Thunderdome in Yucca Valley. Today, reporter Andrew Dieleman introduces us to candidate Rachael Kee…
Today we visit with Rachael Kee, a junior at Yucca Valley High School and candidate for Miss Yucca Valley. Hi Rachael. Tell us, who is the prominent woman you’ve been mentoring with and what you have learned…
“I had the privilege of speaking with professional educator Anita Williams. When I met with her, she spoke about her personal steps to success; including goal-setting, self-initiative, and staying true to yourself. She inspired me to always persevere, to never letting anyone tell me ‘no.’ Through dealing with hardships and growing from the outcomes, both Anita and I have been able to shine as leaders.”
What have you learned from your experience with Miss Yucca Valley?
“I would love to thank the Yucca Valley Rotary Club for building this truly inspiring program. Each day, I find myself acting in consciousness to the seven habits, I believe this has bettered me as a person.”
Any final words?
“I would love to thank those who have supported me and I hope the other girls excel in the program. I hope that when I leave the Miss Yucca Valley program, I do so bettering not just myself, but everyone involved in the program and the community as a whole.”
Thank you Rachael…
