Today we visit with Olivia Paul, a junior at Yucca Valley High School and candidate for Miss Yucca Valley. Who is the prominent woman you’ve been mentoring with and what you have learned from her?
“I had the privilege of meeting Mrs. Barbara Walsh. She is a wife, mother, and videographer. She is very active at Joshua Springs church. I learned from her the importance of keeping my priorities straight and that all things can be achieved if you have faith.”
What have you learned from your experience with Miss Yucca Valley?
“During my experience with Miss Yucca Valley, we read the book ‘The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teenagers,’ by Shawn Covey. Habits such as beginning with the end in mind, taught me to always begin with a goal in mind, helping me with the process of achieving my goals.”
Any final words?
“I would encourage any upcoming junior girls to participate in the Miss Yucca Valley Pageant, it has been a very rewarding learning experience and I have met some awesome friends.”
