WE MEET MISS YUCCA VALLEY CANDIDATE KELLY KING

The 2013 Miss Yucca Valley Pageant, sponsored by the Yucca Valley Rotary club, is set for Saturday, February 2, at the Joshua Springs Thunderdome in Yucca valley. For the next two weeks we will be meeting the seven candidates for the pageant…
Today we visit with Kelly King, a junior at Yucca Valley High School and candidate for Miss Yucca Valley. Hi Kelly. Tell us, who is the prominent woman you’ve been mentoring with and what you have learned. “My prominent lady is Rae Packard. She is a social worker and she runs the Joshua Tree Tortoise Rescue. And when I met Rae I learned to get over my fear of public speaking, and I was able to redefine my personal views on success.” What have you learned from your experience with Miss Yucca Valley? “I’ve learned so much about myself and that I never could have realized without being in this pageant. And getting to know all these amazing ladies has just been a blessing.” Any final words? “I’m just really glad I chose to participate in this pageant. I really feel that I grew and matured as an individual. Like I said, this has just been a blessing and I’m really thankful for this experience.”
