Saturday, February 3 at 6 p.m., the Miss Yucca Valley scholarship pageant will be held at the Thunderdome in Yucca Valley. Tickets will be available at the door. Today, reporter Andrew Dieleman introduces us to contestant Angelina Quirante…
Today we visit with Angelina Quirante, a junior at Yucca Valley High School and candidate for Miss Yucca Valley. Hi Angelina. Tell us, who is the prominent woman you’ve been mentoring with and what you have learned?
“The prominent woman that I interviewed was Sandy Smith. One of the many important things she taught me was to take risks in every aspect of my life because you never know what is going to happen to you in life. She showed me that, despite experiencing a number of personal tragedies, that you can always overcome them. She taught me to live life doing what you are passionate about so you can live without regrets.”
What have you learned from your experience with Miss Yucca Valley?
“I believe the most important things I have learned is how to communicate with people professionally, how to act in professional settings, and how to make conversation with others. Miss Yucca Valley has been very fun and I cannot wait to see how this experience will help me in the future.”
Any final words?
“Thank you to everyone from the Rotary Club and the current Miss Yucca Valley court, you have all helped me grow as a person, gave me the opportunity to meet an amazing local woman, and gave me the professional skills that will prepare me to take on the world.”
