Today we visit with Amanda Cruz, a junior at Yucca Valley High School and candidate for Miss Yucca Valley. Who is the prominent woman you’ve been mentoring with and what you have learned from her?
“My prominent woman is Becky Yackimow. In our short meeting Becky taught me to follow the path of the Lord and success is what you believe it is. From meeting Becky, I took a lot from the advice she gave me. ”
What have you learned from your experience with Miss Yucca Valley?
“Miss Yucca has taught me to go out of my comfort zone and how to mature myself in life and each situation I go through. It has been an amazing experience and the lessons I learned from the “7 Habits from Effective Teens” book are ones I believe every high school girl should have. ”
Any final words?
“I would encourage any incoming junior girls to enter Miss Yucca. It is truly a great experience that helps you grow, meet new people, and learn so much about yourself. Thank you.”
