WE ENDORSE THREE LOCALS ON THE JUNE 7 BALLOT

This is an editorial opinion from Z107.7 News. The Morongo Basin has a unique opportunity to put three of our local residents in three of the top offices that affect our special desert way of life. Z107.7 is endorsing incumbent Congressman Paul Cook. Cook, a resident of Yucca Valley, former Yucca Valley councilman and mayor, as well as a former Twentynine Palms Marine, has represented us well and deserves your vote to continue the valuable work he has started. Of note is Cook’s effectiveness in representing the active duty and veteran military communities to the House of Representatives.
For State Assembly, we endorse another native son. Chad Mayes has not only excelled in the State Assembly but remarkably, in his first term, he was selected as the State Assembly minority leader. Chad Mayes has built a great foundation for leadership and should continue in office.
Finally, for County Supervisors we wholeheartedly endorse Donna Munoz. Munoz has proved herself over and over to be a selfless, dedicated public servant who would bring back full time representation to our Morongo Basin. Incumbent James Ramos has been a disappointment and rarely shows up here. Noted were his absences from the dedication of the Twentynine Palms Post Office to Mac Dube and most recently the Yucca Valley Grubstake Days parade. Your votes for Cook, Mayes, and Munoz, three local residents, will bring the Morongo Basin a remarkable level of representation in Washington, D.C., Sacramento, and San Bernardino.
