This correction and clarification today on a story we ran April 8. In the story we said Timothy Baragona, 51, was stopped near Reche Road and North Vans Ranch Boulevard in Landers on a traffic violation about 12:30 a.m. Saturday, April 5. The deputy determined that Baragona was driving under the influence of alcohol and during a search of the vehicle, the deputy located a billy club and a rifle. The story said Baragona was a convicted felon, so the weapons were seized, and Timothy Baragona was arrested on suspicion of possessing a billy club and driving under the influence. While the Sheriff’s report did say that Baragona had been arrested for felonies, no information has been found that Baragona has been convicted as a felon in San Bernardino County. We correct that information and apologize for any inconvenience the identification of Baragona as a felon may have caused. After his arrest, Baragona was booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000. The district attorney’s office reviewed the case of being a felon in possession of a firearm; Z107.7 News did not get the results of the District Attorney’s review.
