WE CLEAR THE AIR ON SOME YUCCA VALLEY DEVELOPMENT PROJECTS

Rumors have been circulating about construction projects in the Town of Yucca Valley. Yucca Valley Town Manager Mark Nuaimi cleared up the confusion. When the specific plan for Home Depot was approved, it included approval for about 35,000 square feet of retail development. In addition, the Town is expecting a pre-development application in the next month or so for a 45,000 square foot parcel at Home Depot which will require a specific plan amendment. The out parcels at Walmart were also approved with the store’s specific plan, and the Town is expecting a pre-development application for a higher-end national fast food chain. Ground has been broken in the Warren Vista Center for a new Asian restaurant and retail development. And finally, Walmart is trying to sell its current building, and may have a tenant for 30,000 to 40,000 square feet of the building. The Town is unaware of any plans for Kohl’s to move into the building.
