The town’s permit requirements were not in violation of state law, but were similar to permit requirements established by the city of Fontana, which had been successfully sued to overturn its permit requirements. Town staff recommended that commissioners change the town’s permit requirements to avoid potential litigation. The final vote was 3-2, not 4-1 in favor of the amendments. The amended ordinance now goes to the Yucca Valley Town Council for final approval.
