This clarification to a story we aired Wednesday about an assault on a first responder. The injured party was a Sheriff’s deputy, not a paramedic as we first reported. According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputy Ryan Arthurton was called to the 6500 block of Oasis Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 6:15
p.m. Saturday, January 19, for a fight. A woman said that Troy Plummer, 21, was arguing and he had just dragged her out of her car. She added that
he had been high on methamphetamine for days, and then she said he just cut his neck with a knife. She urged the deputy to be careful as she said he
had attacked a police officer in Arizona. When Arthurton attempted to subdue Plummer, a witness told Z107.7 News that Plummer fought back and broke Arthurton’s leg. A Sheriff’s official confirmed that Arthurton received a leg injury during the incident and had received a doctor’s order to be off work. Troy Plummer was arrested for investigation of assault on a peace officer causing great bodily injury, resisting arrest, along with felony enhancements, was booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with his bail set at $275,000.
