The 32nd annual Way Station Thanksgiving give-away is today, Tuesday November 21, from 8 to 10 a.m. at 61722 Commercial Street in Joshua Tree. The Way Station is giving away turkeys, stuffing mix, onions, potatoes, yams, margarine, celery, carrots, spinach, pies, and cranberry sauce. You do not need ID or proof of residency. The gate opened at 8:00; people in line will be given a ticket and a number on a first come-first served basis and then wait until their number is called to receive the food. They ask that recipients park appropriately and not in another business area or you will be towed. The gate will close at 10:00 sharp. The Way Station will provide continental breakfast, praise and worship music; they are expecting about 600 people.
