The five candidates for the two open seats on the Joshua Basin Water District board of directors and another five candidates for three open seats on the Bighorn-Desert View Water Agency board of directors will come together in two separate forums this Tuesday, October 16. The Joshua Tree Chamber of Commerce will sponsor a forum for voters served by the water district there from 6 to 7:30 p.m. at the Joshua Tree Community Center behind the Sportsman’s Club in Joshua Tree. And also at 6 p.m., candidates for the three open board seats at the water agency serving Landers and Flamingo Heights will meet at a forum during the regular monthly potluck meeting of the Flamingo Heights Community Association on Perris Street in Flamingo Heights. Both events are free to the public and both will offer candidates time for brief opening and closing statements as well as time to respond to questions submitted in advance and during the events.
