Online scammers have become increasingly smarter and sneakier than ever. They often use information you share online to target you in their scams. Let’s say you share a vacation photo from another country publicly; now scammers know you’re out of town and can target your friends asking them for money to help you out of some travel emergency. Make sure you adjust your privacy settings to control who sees your posts and who has access to your list of friends. Exercise discretion in what you post online and control who is allowed to view your posts, to avoid being the target of a social media scammer.
