WARRANT AND DRUG ARRESTS IN JOSHUA TREE

At least three men were arrested Wednesday morning on warrants and various drug charges following complaints received around 10 am that the men were harassing a business’s customers for money. According to a Sheriff’s report, Jerold Hunter, 30, of Joshua Tree, Gary Walter, 50, and Edward Jordan, 53, both of Yucca Valley, were hanging out around Sam’s Market in Joshua Tree, asking customers for money. After an employee called the police, the men went to the nearby Hot Spot Internet Café, in the 6400 block of Hallee Road. Deputies found that Hunter had a $100,000 warrant from Riverside County; Walter had two felony no-bail warrants for drug charges, and Jordan had an open charge for possession of controlled substances for sales. Jerold Hunter and Gary Walter are being held at the West Valley Detention Center; Edward Jordan was released later that night on a $50,000 bail.
