Wanted felon arrested in Joshua Tree allegedly with 14 guns

A convicted felon wanted in Arizona was arrested in Joshua Tree on suspicion of possessing a number of weapons.

On Monday at around 4:30 p.m., the County Sheriff’s Specialized Enforcement Division served an arrest warrant at a house in the 5100 block of Avenida Del Sol in Joshua Tree, where they report finding Eduardo Eli Hernandez III, 43, in possession of weapons. Deputies say they seized 14 firearms from the property, along with various ammunition.

Deputies say that Hernandez has an extraditable felony warrant out of Arizona for a weapons violation and a felony warrant for making Criminal Threats. Hernandez is a convicted felon and prohibited from being in possession of firearms and ammunition.

Eduardo Eli Hernandez was arrested for his felony warrants and for investigation into being a felon in possession of a Firearm and Ammunition. He was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail on $80,000 bail.
