Volunteers are still needed to help with Mara’s Christmas Wish, the annual free Christmas Day dinner in Yucca Valley. If you’re interested in volunteering, all volunteers should plan to attend the final planning meeting tomorrow, Tuesday, December 18, at the Yucca Valley Community Center at 6:30 p.m. Help is especially needed to decorate the community center on December 22 and 23, set up and serve food on Christmas Day, and clean up on December 26. County firefighters are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys at Walmart from 10 to 4 on Saturdays through December 22, and Morongo Basin Ambulance employees are accepting toy donations at Walmart on Saturdays through December 23 from 9 to 3. A Toy Collection Box is in the lobby of the Z107.7 Studios in Joshua Tree. Monetary donations are still needed and can be still made; all donations are tax deductible.
