Volunteers are still needed to help with Mara’s Christmas Wish, the annual free Christmas Day dinner in Yucca Valley. If you’re interested in volunteering, weekly planning meetings are held at the Yucca Valley Community Center on Tuesday nights at 6:30 p.m. Help is especially needed to decorate the community center on December 22 and 23, set up and serve food on Christmas Day, and clean up on December 26. Financial donations are also needed. See this story at z1077fm.com on how to make a financial contribution. In addition, county firefighters are accepting donations of new, unwrapped toys at Walmart from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Saturdays through December 22. Managing editor Tami Roleff says Morongo Basin ambulance will be at Walmart on Sundays…
Morongo Basin Ambulance employees will be in front of Yucca Valley Wal-Mart from 9 a.m. until 3 p.m. every Sunday from December 2 through December 16. The crews will be accepting new, unwrapped toys to be distributed to children in need. Their goal is to fill an ambulance with toys each Sunday. Toy donations may also be dropped off at ambulance headquarters at 6335 Park Blvd. in Joshua Tree Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. For more information, please call, 760-792-7126.
