Joshua Tree National Park invites local residents and groups such as Boy and Girl Scouts, church groups, social and business clubs and other interested groups, to take part in National Public Lands Day. Volunteers will work with park rangers to clean up the park and improve trails. Registration is between 7:30 and 8 a.m. at the park’s Oasis Visitor Center on National Park Drive in Twentynine Palms, and volunteers will work from 8 to 1.

Participants will receive a coupon good for a “fee-free” day at any national park or federal agency site. Participants should bring water, sun screen, appropriate shoes, and a “can-do” attitude. Entrance fees for all park visitors will be waived on September 22. For further information, call 760-367-5521.
