A Twentynine Palms man was arrested Wednesday, accused of attemped murder. Deputies responded to the 6100 block of Chia Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 8:45 p.m. Saturday, August 29. The victim told deputies that Nicholas Plummer, 35, had hit her in the face and strangled her with a vacuum cleaner cord until she was unconscious. She said he also stepped on her head, held her at knife point, and threatened to kill her and her child if she tried to leave. The woman was able to escape with her child and contacted a neighbor who called 911. Plummer had fled by the time deputies arrived. Deputies obtained a warrant for Plummer’s arrest, and at 1:25 p.m. Wednesday, Nicholas Plummer surrendered to detectives without incident. Nicholas Plummer was arrested on suspicion of attempted murder, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, and is being held on $750,000 bail.
