Welcome Home Vietnam Veterans Day on Monday, March 30, aims to honor and show appreciation to all service men and women, but the event promises something for everyone. “Welcome Home” kicks off at 2 p.m. with reveille and color guard from Semper Fi #1, Riverside National Cemetery’s Memorial Honor Guard. Among the guest speakers are Vietnam Veteran, Sergeant Mac McClain, our own Sergeant Major Karl Villalino who will speak on changes in combat since the Vietnam War, Refreshments, information tables, and an open mic session for vets in attendance are just some of the activities planned for this free event. And at 6 p.m. the sound of Taps will honor all vets and mark the end of the event. It all happens at the Yucca Valley Community Center.
