The County coroner’s office has released the name of the man who was killed Wednesday morning while walking along the highway in Twentynine Palms. Timothy Gleason, 49, of Twentynine Palms, was walking eastbound on the south side of State Route 62 on the bridge over the wash at Mojave Avenue just east of the Stater Brothers center in Twentynine Palms about 10:48. Gleason was struck from the rear by an eastbound Dodge Ram pickup truck, driven by Brian Franco of Twentynine Palms and sustained fatal injuries. The exact cause of the collision is pending investigation. Sheriff’s Deputy Jared Dominick said Franco was not cited pending investigation.
