For veterans here in the Morongo Basin, February 20 is stacking up to be much more than President’s Day. In our area, it’s also Veterans Resource Day. Reporter Mike Lipsitz has more on just what that means…
Veterans Resource Day on February 20 aims to connect area vets with programs, services and other resources available. If you’re a vet, bring your DD-214 certificate to take advantage of this one stop shop for claims processing, healthcare, housing, employment opportunities and more There will even be special outreach to women, those with disabilities, and veterans looking to follow up on past issues. A free lunch will be served. It all happens from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. in the Joshua Tree Community Center behind the Sportsman’s Club on Sunburst. For more informant about “What Your Community Can Do For You,” call local VFW contacts, Commander Mike Shannon or Jim Nutter at 760-366-2717. Reporting for Z107.7 News, this is Mike Lipsitz.
