The City of Twentynine Palms will host the Morongo Basin’s Veterans Day Tribute 2017. This annual event alternates each year between the Town of Yucca Valley and the City of Twentynine Palms. There will be static equipment displays from law enforcement, fire departments, and the military, as well as music, a free barbecue, and entertainment. The Marine Sandpiper and the Marine Corps Color guard will open the ceremony at 11 a.m. Colonel Ricardo Martinez will be the guest speaker. The Veterans Day Tribute will be held Saturday, November 11, beginning at 10:00 a.m. in Veterans Park, next to the Twentynine Palms City Hall.
A Veteran’s Day tribute will be held in Desert Hot Springs Saturday, November 11. Sponsored by the city, event will feature Boy Scout Troop 1606, and the Desert Hot Springs High School Junior ROTC. The VFW Post 1534 will honor five veterans with “Continuing to Serve” awards. Residents can nominate veterans via a link in this story at z1077fm.com. The event will be held at Veterans Park on Palm Drive; seating begins at 8:30 a.m. and it starts at 9 a.m.
