Theatre 29’s latest production, “The 39 Steps,” a manic mad-cap murderously funny spy caper, is directed by veteran Theatre 29 actor and director Charles Harvey. Harvey said the play, based on the Alfred Hitchcock film, has a very talented cast, each of whom has stretched far outside their comfort zone. He warns audiences that the show might cause sore ribs and breathlessness from non-stop laughter. “The 39 Steps” runs weekends through September 13, with a 2:30 Sunday matinee September 7. Tickets are $8 to $12 and can be purchased from the Theatre 29 box office at 760-361-4151. Theatre 29 is at 73637 Sullivan Road in Twentynine Palms.
