A Venice woman was arrested in Twentynine Palms Thursday (March 11) morning, accused of driving while high on drugs. Sheriff’s deputies were called about 10 a.m. Thursday concerning a reckless driver near Adobe Road and Amboy Road. Witnesses said the female driver, later identified as Lindsay Sawyer, 30, was driving on the dirt shoulder, didn’t stop for a red light, drove in opposing lanes of traffic, and was swerving between lanes. Deputies located Sawyer and saw her commit multiple moving violations. Deputies stopped her and determined she had a suspended license. A field sobriety test was conducted and Sawyer was determined to be high on drugs. Lindsay Sawyer was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of drugs and driving while impaired. She was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, cited, and released.
