VEHICLE THEFT ARRESTS IN 29 PALMS

Three people were arrested early Monday morning after a Twentynine Palms resident reported seeing headlights at a vacant home. According to a Sheriff’s report, a resident in the 2900 block of Bluegrass Avenue, saw headlights and a vehicle in a neighbor’s driveway. After verifying with the homeowner that no one was supposed to be at the home, the neighbor called the Sheriff shortly before 3:30 Monday morning. When a deputy arrived, four suspects fled in a vehicle that was later determined to be stolen. During the pursuit, the suspects bailed out of the moving car, doing a tuck and roll. The deputy was able to track down three of the four suspects and arrested them: Andrew Braun, 31, of Joshua Tree; Matthew Becker, 29, of San Bernardino; and Nicole Warren, 25, of Joshua Tree. Braun had been released on felony probation June 1 for assault with a deadly weapon and Becker had been released on felony probation March 22 for attempted burglary. Andrew Braun, Matthew Becker, and Nicole Warren were each arrested for investigation of vehicle theft. They were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with bail set at $50,000 each, although Andrew Braun and Matthew Becker are being held without bail for violation of felony parole.
