VEHICLE FIRE ON MORONGO GRADE THURSDAY AFTERNOON

An overheated vehicle traveling eastbound on Highway 62 up the Morongo Grade caught fire about 3:30 Thursday afternoon. Morongo Valley firefighters were first on scene, just west of the county line, and found the car’s engine compartment fully engulfed in flames. No injuries were reported.
