VEHICLE CRASH INTO POWER POLE IN TWENTYNINE PALMS EARLY TUESDAY LEFT HUNDREDS WITHOUT POWER

A driver caused a power outage in Twentynine Palms early Tuesday morning when she crashed her vehicle into a power pole. According to Sheriff’s report, deputies responded to the intersection of Canyon Road and Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms around 2 a.m. for a report that a vehicle driven by an unidentified female driver crashed into a power pole, causing the pole to break and power lines to land in a nearby dirt field. Southern California Edison reported that crews responded to the scene, working past noon the same day to restore power to approximately 300 homes affected by the outage. The driver sustained no reported injuries.
