The American Legion Post 761 is holding its first annual Veterans Stand Down and Concert Memorial Day weekend in Luckie Park in Twentynine Palms. Tonight, representatives from the Loma Linda VA hospital and the Hi-Desert Medical Center will be available to answer questions. At noon there will be a free soup kitchen at the community center in Luckie Park and tomorrow is a free picnic with hamburgers and hot dogs. A free concert will provide music from noon to 10 p.m. with ten bands, including Velvet Hammer. For more information, call 760-267-3776.
