USE ALTERNATE PARK ENTRANCE STATIONS DURING BUSY TIMES

Spring break starts this week. Joshua Tree National Park is expecting many visitors during this busy time. Here’s Park Ranger Pam Tripp with some alternate entrances to the park… Every year our entrance stations, campgrounds, and visitor centers at Joshua Tree National Park get busier and busier. With at least 2 million visitors yearly, and this number increasing each year, it is common to see full campgrounds and longer waits at entrances, especially the West Entrance in the town of Joshua Tree. Plan ahead when preparing for a camping trip. Information about camping in this area can be found on our official website at www.nps.gov/jotr. And to help alleviate your wait to enter the park, we recommend entering the park from either the South side, at the Cottonwood Visitor Center entrance, or from the North Entrance station three miles south of the town of Twentynine Palms. Having your ID ready to show if you hold annual, senior, or access passes, will also provide faster service through stations. For more information about our busiest times and how to make your visit to your national park more enjoyable, call us at 760-367-5522. For Copper Mountain Broadcasting Z107.7. This is Park Ranger Pam Tripp, encouraging you to enjoy the solace, wonder, and wild of your national park.
