The Yucca Valley Planning commission got an update on current commercial development around the town this week. Managing Editor Tami Roleff says …
Retail development is moving right along in Yucca Valley. Phase 2 of the Warren Vista Center—where the Rite Aid store is—should break ground in April. In May, construction should be completed on the new Super Walmart, which means the shelves will be stocked, and new employees trained for an opening soon after. In addition, the Planning Department expects to receive pre-applications for general retail and a restaurant in front of the Super Walmart site soon. The new traffic lights at Palomar and Yucca Trail, Joshua Lane and Yucca Trail, and Inca and Highway 62, should be operational in June. For residential construction, the news is not so good; there’s been no activity in that area, according to deputy town manager Shane Stueckle.
