One of the major off-road events in the country, The King of the Hammers, returns to the nearby Johnson Valley off-road area. The race started in 2007 with 12 guys racing for bragging rights and has grown to eight days of racing and $100,000 in prize money. The King of the Hammers desert race and rock crawl takes place Friday, January 31, to Sunday, February 9, at Means Dry Lake in Johnson Valley. More than 500 racers and 50,000 to 60,000 spectators are expected at the 2020 King of the Hammer races. The massive closing celebration Saturday night will include live music. If you’re into four-wheeling, this is the ultimate desert race. For tickets or more information, visit http://ultra4racing.com/
