This Saturday, June 29, Johnson Valley will be flooded with UFOs … Uncommonly Flavorful Offers, that is. It’s a “Bake Sale UFO Auction” and doors open at 12:15, bidding begins 12:30. It all takes place at the Johnson Valley Community Center on Quail Bush at Larrea Road, not far from Highway 247 in Johnson Valley. If you’re a baker making an uncommonly flavorful offer, come early and bring a card with your name and the name of your recipe, mention special ingredients or combinations. Bring goods that can be held without refrigeration: no cream, custard, or meat fillings. Instead, bring breads, biscuits, churros, cookies and pastries.
