TWO YUCCA VALLEY MEN ACCUSED OF BURGLARY

Two Yucca Valley men were arrested last week, accused of burglary. According to a Sheriff’s press release, deputies were called about 10:30 p.m. July 19 to a burglary on Nagles Street in Yucca Valley. The resident, identified by the Sheriff’s Department as Pastor Jerel Hagerman of Joshua Springs Calvary Chapel, told deputies that electronics, jewelry, and a handgun, totaling more than $19,000, had been stolen. The investigation revealed that multiple suspects were involved in the burglary. On Thursday, July 23, detectives went to a home in the 8700 block of Warren Vista in Yucca Valley where they contacted David Offutt, 18, and Brandon Offutt, 20, and found the stolen handgun. A search warrant was obtained, and detectives found more of the stolen property, evidence linking them to the burglary, as well as a second handgun, not related to the original burglary. David Offutt and Brandon Offutt were arrested for investigation of burglary, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $25,000 each.
