TWO TWENTYNINE PALMS MEN ACCUSED OF ASSAULT

Two Twentynine Palms men were arrested Thursday after they attacked two men who were sitting in a car. According to a Sheriff’s report, the men, who were in a car in a parking lot in the 58500 block of Highway 62, said that Jesse Silva, 21, and Xavier Johnson, 20, attacked them and broke the car’s windshield at about 2 p.m. The victims had been arguing with Silva and Johnson when it escalated to a physical confrontation. One victim sustained injuries to his face that caused bleeding on the inside of his left eye around the cornea. He also sustained a swollen lower lips and bumps and scratches on his neck, shoulders, back, and right knee. The second victim sustained a red mark on the left side of his face by his eye after Johnson allegedly punched him once while he was seated in his car and said Silva jumped on his car and smashed the windshield. Jesse Silva and Xavier Johnson were arrested for investigation of assault with serious injuries and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with their bail set at $100,000 each.
