TWO TWENTYNINE PALMS HIGH SCHOOL ATHLETES IN CIF FINALS

Twentynine Palms High School track athletes Diante Aiken and Marcus Chestnut wrapped up their careers as high school athletes on Saturday, May 18, at Mount San Antonio College. Both returned to CIF Finals, earning 18 points for the Wildcats. Chestnut earned fourth place in the 110-meter high hurdles with a time of 14.99. Aiken scored in two of his three events, high jump and 300-meter hurdles. Aiken’s time of 40.62 placed him fifth overall, good for four points and another medal. The top performance of the day was turned in by Marcus Chestnut, who brought home a silver medal in the triple jump. Next for these Wildcats: Aiken will enroll in Hampton University (in Virginia) and Chestnut will join the United States Marines. Both athletes were named Wildcat of the Week.
