A commissioner from both the Yucca Valley Parks and Rec Commission, and the Yucca Valley Planning Commission recently resigned, and the town is now accepting applications for new commissioners. Managing editor Tami Roleff has more information about the commissions…
When Brad Napientek took over a vacant seat on the Yucca Valley Planning Commission, he resigned from the Yucca Valley Parks and Rec Commission, leaving a vacant seat. And at the November 13 meeting of the Yucca Valley Planning Commission, Chair Steve Whitten announced he was retiring due to a new job. The Town of Yucca Valley is now accepting applications to fill both commission seats. Planning commissioners meet the second and fourth Tuesday of the month and receive a $100 monthly stipend; they advise the council on land use and development issues. Park commissioners meet once a month and receive a $50 stipend; they advise the council on open space, parks, and community events. Commissioners must be a resident of Yucca Valley and able to serve for a term of four years. Applications are available at the town hall or at yucca-valley.org. The deadline to apply is December 20.
