The Sheriff’s arson squad is investigating two suspicious fires in Yucca Valley Thursday. About 5:45 p.m., fire fighters from Joshua Tree were on a medical aid call in Yucca Valley when they saw smoke coming from behind the Airway Medical Center. They arrived to find a dumpster fully involved in flames. Witnesses told fire fighters they saw a man leaving the area around the time of the blaze. Then at 6:03 p.m., Yucca Valley fire fighters were called to a second dumpster fire in the 7200 block of Dumosa Avenue, behind the Bank of America building, which was also described as suspicious in origin. Anyone with information about either fire should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
