TWO SOUGHT IN TWO SEPARATE ASSAULTS IN YUCCA VALLEY

The Sheriff’s Department is searching for two men involved in separate assaults in Yucca Valley Saturday. About12:45 p.m., Francisco Rodriguez, 28, went to a residence in the 7400 block of Condalia Avenue where he started arguing with his brother, Alejandro Rodriguez, and Matthew Garrison, 23. During the argument, Francisco Rodriguez brandished a metal baseball bat and struck Garrison on the lower left side, and then fled. Matthew Garrison was taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center where he was treated for minor injuries and released.

Then, about 1 p.m. deputies were called to a home in the 7200 block of Palo Alto Avenue in Yucca Valley for another fight between brothers. Raymond Groggins, 21, and Scott Groggins, 24, were arguing, and then began fighting over clothing. Raymond Groggins took a flare gun and fired it at his brother Scott, striking him in the back of his hand, as Scott used it to protect his face. The flare did not detonate, but bounced off Scott, striking a nearby vehicle. Raymond Scott then fled with the flare gun on a red dirt bike.

Both investigations are ongoing, and anyone with information on the whereabouts of either Francisco Rodriguez or Raymond Groggins should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
