TWO ROB A YUCCA VALLEY STORE WITH PEPPER SPRAY AND A STEAK KNIFE

Two Yucca Valley men were arrested early Tuesday morning after they tried to rob the 7-11 on Highway 62 and Kickapoo Trail. According to a Sheriff’s press release, Andrew Reviea, 20, and Joseph Kennedy, disguised and wearing hoods over their faces, entered the store about 1:10 a.m. Tuesday, armed with pepper spray and a steak knife. The release states one of the men sprayed the store clerk with pepper spray while the other suspect jumped the counter and stole cartons and packages of cigarettes. Reviea and Kennedy then fled the store, running in a southeast direction. Deputies located evidence that led them to a specific apartment in a complex in the 55300 block of Santa Fe Trail. At the apartment, deputies found Reviea and Kennedy; after searching the apartment, weapons, evidence, and the stolen cigarettes were found, linking both men to the crime. Andrew Reviea and Joseph Kennedy were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for investigation of armed robbery with bail set at $200,000.
