Two people were arrested Wednesday, after methamphetamine was found in their possession. About 12:20 p.m. April 7, a deputy made a traffic stop near Baseline Road and Saladin Avenue in Twentynine Palms. The driver, identified as Anthony Balurdi, 44, of Moreno Valley, had an active felony warrant for burglary, as did his passenger Bethany Groff, 40, of Rialto. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found drug paraphernalia and methamphetamine. Anthony Balurdi and Bethany Groff were arrested for investigation of being in possession of a controlled substance and for their arrest warrants. They were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and are being held for their $50,000 burglary arrest warrant.
