TWO PEOPLE ARRESTED, ACCUSED OF BURGLARY IN YUCCA VALLEY

Two people were arrested Monday, after Yucca Valley resident called 9-1-1 and reported seeing lights on inside the garage of a neighboring vacation home in the 56300 block of Antelope Trail in Yucca Valley just before 11 p.m. The owners were out-of-town. Deputies arrived and contacted Justin Channell, 30, a transient, and Rachel Buckley, 38, of Landers, inside the house. The suspects had rifled through the victim’s belongings, dressers, and cabinets, the contents of which were strewn around the floor and had broken a hole through the living room wall to gain access to the locked garage. Deputies spoke with the property owner via phone, and she stated she did not know Channell or Buckley, and she did not give them permission to be inside her home. Justin Channell and Rachel Buckley were arrested and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail for suspicion of residential burglary, with their bail set at $25,000.
