It was two out of three for a scheduled Bighorn Desert View Water Agency candidates forum last night. Reporter Mike Lipsitz was there, and files this report…
In the race for two open seats on the Bighorn Desert View Water Agency board of directors, the two incumbent candidates answered questions from voters at last night’s candidate forum hosted by the Flamingo Heights Community Association. A third candidate, David Ray, was a no show. Ray also failed to appear at two other local meet and greet type community events. Incumbents Larry Coulombe and Mike McBride fielded basic questions from the friendly audience of about two dozen. Several took the opportunity praise operations at the once troubled, now model small water agency. For their part, Coulombe stressed the agency’s accomplishments during his four years on the board; McBride, who has served for eight years, stressed the importance of accountability, well maintained infrastructure, and planning for the future. Election day is Tuesday, November 3.
