TWO MORONGO BASIN MEN ARRESTED FOR POSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS

Two men were arrested Saturday, March 27, in separate incidents, both after methamphetamine was found in their cars. About 2 a.m. Saturday morning, a deputy made a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Michael Cox, 52, near Highway 62 and Sunny Vista in Joshua Tree. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a large amount of methamphetamine.

Then about 10:30 p.m., another deputy made a traffic stop on Highway 62 near Kickapoo Trail in Yucca Valley. The driver was identified as Brian Lynch, 43. Lynch, who was on felony probation for sales of a controlled substance, did not have a driver’s license. During a search of the vehicle, the deputy found a moderate amount of methamphetamine. Michael Cox and Brian Lynch were each arrested on suspicion of transporting methamphetamine for sales and were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $50,000 each.
