Morongo Basin Sheriff’s deputies have arrested two more juveniles who are suspected of burglarizing four convenience stores in the Morongo Basin last week. In the early morning hours of April 20 and 23, at least five juveniles broke into the All-American convenience store in Morongo Valley, the Sinclair convenience store in Yucca Valley, Dollar General in Twentynine Palms, and the Berri Brothers convenience store in Yucca Valley, and stole cigarettes, alcohol, and other items. Deputies spotted the break-in at Berri Brothers Thursday morning and began a pursuit of the suspects’ vehicle. The 16-year-old male driver crashed the BMW at Interstate 10 and Beaumont Avenue in Beaumont, and several teens fled on foot. Deputies arrested the driver and two 15-year-old boys at the scene. The boys were cited and released to their parents.
About 1 p.m. Thursday, detectives conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle near 7th Street and Kirby Street in San Jacinto. Inside the car were two 15-year-old boys from Hemet who were identified as suspects in the Dollar General and Berri Brothers burglaries and who had fled from the BMW earlier that morning. The boys were cited and released to their parents at the scene. No other suspects are outstanding from the Dollar General and Berri Brothers burglaries on Thursday. Detectives are still searching for a female suspect who was wearing a sweatshirt with the word “Pink” on the front and a male suspect wearing a NASA jacket and who has tattoos on his right arm and hand. They are suspects in the April 20 burglaries of the All-American and Sinclair convenience stores. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-8471.
