Two mobile homes burn in Twentynine Palms, firefighter injured by downed lines

A fire at a Twentynine Palms mobile home park damaged several residences and left one firefighter injured.

Yesterday morning (October 25) at around 7:20 a.m, crews from San Bernardino County Fire were dispatched to a fire in a mobile home park in the 72000 block of Joshua Drive in Twentynine Palms. Fire crews arrived and report finding two mobile homes on fire, with multiple other building exposures nearby. They used a defensive fire attack to prevent the fire from spreading to nearby homes.

Downed power lines provided fire crews with a challenge, and one firefighter was electrocuted before Southern California Edison was able to contain them. The injured firefighter was taken to a local hospital as a precautionary measure.

The fire was knocked down in 30 minutes. It destroyed two mobile homes and damaged two others. No other injuries were reported.

The cause of the fire is unknown and remains under investigation by fire investigators.
