A student and a man received minor injuries Friday when a car and a school bus collided in Yucca Valley. According to the CHP, just after 2 p.m., a man in his 50s or 60s was driving his Ford Escort XL eastbound on Yucca Trail and went to make a left turn into Vagabond Welding, just east of Pioneertown Road. As he turned, he hit the left front of a school bus that was traveling westbound on Yucca Trail. The force of the impact spun the Ford around and it hit the rear bumper of the bus, and then the car crossed back over the road, went through a wood rail fence, and hit a Fiat that was parked in a parking lot. One of the six students on board the bus complained of pain to a wrist; the driver of the Ford received a laceration to the back of his head. Both were treated at the scene. Parents were called about the crash by the bus company. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
