TWO MARINES ARRESTED IN TWENTYNINE PALMS, ACCUSED OF STREET RACING

Two Marines were arrested Wednesday, accused of street racing in Twentynine Palms. About 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Deputy Wayne Greer had made a traffic stop in the 5100 block of Adobe Road when a red Camaro and a black Mustang approached, traveling southbound on Adobe Road. As the two cars drove by, the drivers, later identified as Steven Gutierrez, 21, and Juan Infante, 21, revved their engines and accelerated to a high rate of speed and raced down the street. Greer pursued the vehicles and both drivers yielded in the parking lot of the Circle K at Adobe Road and Two Mile Road. Steven Gutierrez and Juan Infante, were cited for street racing and released to the Marine Corps. Both their vehicles were impounded.
