Two Morongo Basin Sheriff’s deputies were recognized last week for their outstanding job in recovering stolen vehicles. Detective Shaunna Ables and Deputy Robert Stucki received the 10851 Award from the California Highway Patrol at a ceremony December 4. The award, named after the penal code for a stolen vehicle, is awarded to law enforcement personnel who meet specified criteria. The two deputies recovered 23 stolen vehicles with a total estimated value of $87,400, and arrested 14 suspects for vehicle theft.
