Two juveniles were arrested Tuesday accused of breaking windows at a construction site and bus yard. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the construction site of the new wastewater treatment facility in the 59000 block of Sunnyslope Road in Yucca Valley on January 17. The worker said that a group of four to five juveniles threw a rock through the construction site office and broke a window and also threw a rock at a company vehicle, damaging the front bumper. Deputies were called back to the same site on January 23, where it was reported the same group of kids had returned and broke another window in the construction office. And then on January 24, juveniles threw a large piece of asphalt and broke a bus windshield in the La Contenta bus yard. Estimates for the damage are more than $1,000. The cases were referred to the Morongo Basin Sheriff’s school resource officer, who identified two of the miscreants as 12- and 13-year-old boys who attend La Contenta Middle School. Their names were not released due to their ages. The boys were released to the custody of their parents, and the case has been forwarded to the district attorney’s office for review.
